WHOLE GRAIN RECIPE:

Whole Grain Organic Brown Rice Flour ~ An excellent source of protein and trace minerals manganese, selenium, magnesium and Vitamin B.  It is low in calories and sodium.  Because it is high in insoluble dietary fiber, it aids in flushing sludge which creates a perfect environment for parasites like tapeworms and roundworms from your dog's intestinal tract. It also helps protect against many types of cancers with selenium being particularly important in preventing both lung and skin cancers.

Whole Grain Organic Rolled Oat Flour ~ Oats are inherently gluten free and an excellent source of thiamine, iron, Vitamins E and K, choline and dietary fiber which benefits several body organs and systems, including: cardiovascular, skin, nervous system, stomach, spleen, lungs, urinary, reproductive and contain the anti-tumor compound b-sitosterol. They are higher in dietary fiber and are filled with cholesterol fighting soluble fiber.  Heart healthy organic oats are good for treating a wide variety of diseases including inflammatory conditions, mental or physical exhaustion, depression, dyspepsia, insomnia and fevers. We use only high-quality, human-grade, whole organic oats in our treats so they are loaded with bioavailable nutrients and DO NOT cause allergies and other health problems.

Cold-Milled Organic Flax Seed ~  Flax seeds carry one of the biggest nutrient payloads on the planet!  They contain an abundance of omega fatty acids, are high in antioxidants, soluble and insoluble fiber and alpha-linoleic acid which benefits your dog's immune system.  Alpha-linoleic acid also has an anti-inflammatory effect which aids arthritis and other joint problems. They also contain high amounts of B vitamins, magnesium, manganese.

GRAIN-FREE RECIPE:

Organic Garbanzo Bean (Chickpea) Flour ~ Organic Buckwheat Flour ~ Grain and gluten free Garbanzo beans are legumes, like lentils and peas. High in protein and fiber, they're a highly and easily digestable protein which is beneficial to the health of our dogs. They're also rich in lecithin, potassium and vitamins A, B and C.  Chickpea flour is an excellent source of folic acid and fiber, in addition to being a good source of iron, magnesium, copper, zinc and phosphorus. Chickpeas also contain thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6 and calcium. Buckwheat is not a wheat, not a grain - it is a berry. Dogs with grain allergies are safe to eat treats containing Buckwheat. Buckwheat is also a very low glycemic food, meaning it will not spike the blood sugar when eaten, which can lead to ailments such as canine diabetes. Buckwheat contains magnesium, which relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow and nutrient delivery thereby improving  their cardiovascular system.

Cold-Milled Organic Flax Seed  ~  Because flax is such a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, it is a very valuable addition to a dog’s diet and the reason why I add it in both my whole grain and grain-free treats!  Adding just a little to our dog's diet can make a significant difference in their overall health. Lastly, flaxseed is an excellent supplemental herb for your dog’s heart health.

WHOLE GRAIN & GRAIN-FREE TREAT FLAVORS:

Pure Organic Pumpkin ~  Pumpkin is rich in fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium, and Carotenoids.

So how does pumpkin benefit your pooch?   Pumpkin fiber aids digestion, Vitamin C is a substance vital for its antioxidant and immune system supporting effects. Potassium is an electrolyte essential for muscular contraction and recovery from activity and carotenoids aid against cancer. Pumpkin is also a good natural source of soluble fiber and is proven effective in aiding diabetic regulation.  One more point about pumpkin, dogs just love its great taste!

Organic Sweet Potato ~  Dogs love the irresistible flavor of  mouth-watering, nutrient rich sweet potatoes. They contain a large amount of Vitamin B6, beta-carotene (which helps protect skin and eyes) and Vitamins A, C and E. Aside from offering a taste that dogs love, they also serve as a powerful antioxidant for your dog while having a low-glycemic index which

helps your dog maintain a healthy blood sugar level and steady energy for whatever activity he or she is engaged in.

Organic Banana ~ Besides their uniquely smooth texture and sweet taste, bananas also boast loads of amino acids, elecrolytes, minerals, Vitamins B6 and C, Potassium, fiber and manganese.  Because of their natural sugar content, bananas are often used as treats for working and athletic dogs.  If your dog uses a lot of energy, whether he's your professional companion or just your sidekick on long hikes, bring a few bananas along to keep him/her going strong!

Organic Peanut Butter (Homemade Freshly Ground Raw Organic Peanuts & Coconut Oil) ~ Peanut Butter is rich in protein, contains healthy fats, Vitamins E and H which keep your dog’s skin and coat healthy and loads of antioxidants. When we give our dog a peanut butter dog treat, we are actually aiding in making our dog’s bodies operate more efficiently. Peanuts are actually legumes and naturally contain protein as well as some basic carbohydrates. When these two work together, carbohydrates are used more efficiently as fuel.  This is great for dogs that have diabetes as well. When a dog has diabetes, the insulin needed to unlock the cells is inhibited.  What this means is the sugar in the bloodstream is over-abundant and when it builds up in the bloodstream, it causes permanent damage to nerves and cells throughout the body. Peanut butter has the right balance of protein and carbohydrates to help a dog’s body put that sugar to use so that it can be metabolized. There are so many healthy benefits when dogs eat peanut butter dog treats.

Organic Blueberry & Parsley ~  Blueberries have been proven to help control dogs' sugar levels and cardiovascular health. The fiber, manganese and vitamin K all improve heart function as well as lower stroke risk. They are extra-helpful for animals who engage in a great deal of exercise, as they help with cell repair. Studies with sled dogs have shown the anti-oxidant properties help them fight free radicals as well as resist normal wear and tear. The anti-cancer properties are also undisputed and part of a healthy diet for active dogs. Blueberries have been shown to help older dogs improve cognitive function, evidenced by heightened ability to perform tasks and learn new commands.  Parsley freshens dog breath in addition to providing phytochemicals. It also has Vitamin C, Vitamin K, carotenoids, B vitamins, iron and limonene (an oil that kills bad mouth bacteria).

Organic Coconut ~ Coconut is regarded as a ‘superfood’ because of its countless health benefits for humans and dogs alike. Coconut contains lauric acid which has antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. As a bonus, coconut oil improves any dog’s skin and coat, improves digestion and reduces allergic reactions. My organic coconut treats are chock-full of powerful nutrients, rich in fiber and are made with the highest quality finely shredded organic coconut, unrefined organic virgin coconut oil and pure organic coconut water.

Organic Apple ~ Apples are a great source of dietary fiber and vitamin C as well as low in saturated fat and sodium. Some believe that vitamin C can help hip dysplasia, a common ailment in large and large, purebred dogs. Saturated fat contributes to heart problems. Apples contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which contribute to a healthy, glossy coat and help to control skin allergies.
